Respondents are 465 nurses in total, who work in hospitals with 100 beds and over in N Prefecture. A questionnaire on this survey asks the nurses about their own experience on the injecting practices except emergency. 52.9% of respondents received the transcription prescriptions in addition to the verbal ordering. 43.7% orally asked the other nurses to prepare for the injections. In preparing for the injection, 31.8% simultaneously took medicines for two or more patients out of a medication cart. 48.4% were sure to check each label of the drug and its order more than three times. 24.9% divided medicines into each patient's share using trays. 68.0% used syringes to the different purpose. 69.0% were interrupted during the preparation of medication.
