Five terminal cancer ipatients in our generalward were interviewed, and their Answers were compiled word by word for qualitative analysis. The analysis revealed that their self-concept followed a certain course characterized by 9 categories: a loss ofmasculinity, a sense of respect for the body, awareness of death, transmigration, coexistence with cancer, a fight against cancer, uncertainties of the body, physical sensation, and a new self-image. It was also found that the patients tended to gradually accept the bodily change associated with disease progression through comparison with their once-healthy body image; although, they always felt uncertain what bodily changes they would go thoughts about their body were closely related with their self-concept, such as their raison d'etre, way of life, and ideal self., 本研究では、終末期がん患者の自己概念の変化についてボディ・イメージに焦点をあて、どのように捉えているかを明らかにすることを目的とした.一般病棟に入院中の終末期患者5名にインタビューを行い、その逐語録をデータとして質的分析を行った.その結果、男性性の喪失、身体の尊重感、死の意識化、輪廻、がんとの共存、がんとの闘い、身体の不確実さ、身体の感覚、新たな自己像の9つの背景が出された.症状の進行に伴う身体の変化に対して、自分の身体が今後どのようになっていくのかという不確実感が常にあり、健康な頃の身体のイメージと比較しながらも徐々に受け入れていく傾向がみられた.患者が身体について考える時、自己の存在意義、生き様、自己理想など自己概念と密接にかかわることが示唆された.}, pages = {219--236}, title = {終末期がん患者の自己概念に関する基礎調査 : ボディ・イメージに焦点をあてて}, volume = {4}, year = {2004} }
