A literature review was conducted on the infection control from corpses in postmortem care, and a survey on the issue was conducted among nurses. The results showed that infection control corpses associated with postmortem care in clinical settings were implemented according to the concept of universal precautions, such as wearing gloves. Some nurses were concerned about leakage of fluid from corpses after postmortem care. The results suggested the need for instructing family members to wash their hands after handling deceased family members, and providing morticians with information on infections affecting particular corpses.
