Participants were concerned about “income\"， “personal health and illness\"， and “family health and illness\" after reaching 65 years old. Main “reasons for living\" at present comprised “interaction with friends\"， “enjoying the company of family\"， and “work\"， while “interaction with friends\"， “enjoying the company of family\" and “hobby-related group activities\" were envisaged as reasons for living after the age of 65 years. Regarding community life， neighborhood participation was at the level of “exchanging greetings\" and nearly half of participants had never engaged in community activities. People do not become “elderly\" and thereby “healthy and vital elderly people\" who contribute positively to the local community on the day they turn 65 years old. However， data from the upcoming elderly generation indicates that existing relations with the local community are weak.
