| 内容記述 | 筆者は過去24年間に新潟県に生息する直翅類昆虫の調査研究をおこなってきた。その結果12科117種を明らかにすることができた。この数は2003年度にバッタリギス編集部がまとめた都道府県直翅目分布表（2003）と比較した場合、記録種134種の愛媛県、139種の静岡県、132種の高知県に続いて117種の埼玉県、愛知県、和歌山県、広島県となっており、新潟県は全国的にみても多くの種類が生息する。いまだ調査が進んでいない県もあるので一概に多い少ないの比較はできないが、新潟県は北海道、東北、北陸のなかでは一番直翅類の生息種類数が多い。それは新潟県の地形が豊かで、これまであまり破壊がおこなわれなかったことによる。しかし近年の開発は凄く生息地は荒らされつつある。ここでは筆者の退職を記念して、新潟県の直翅目昆虫の調査結果を報告したい。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | For the past 24 years, the author has been conducting survey research on Orthoptera in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, through which 117 species in 12 families have been identified. Looking at the Table of Orthoptera Distribution by Prefecture prepared by the editorial department of the Bulletin of the Japanese Society of Orthoptera in 2003, this number suggests that Niigata Prefecture ranks among the top orefecture in Japan in terms of the number of Orthoptera species. The largest number of recorded species is in Shizuoka Prefecture, with 139 species, followed by Ehime Prefecture with 134, Kochi Prefecture with 132, and Saitama, Aichi, Wakayama, and Hiroshima Prefectures, each with 117 species. There are still several prefectures where surveys have yet to be undertaken, so it si difficult to make a general comparison of the number of species in prefectures throughout Japan, but niigata has the largest number of Orthoptera species in the Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Hokuriku regions. This is because Niigata has a rich geography, and because up to now, its environment has for the most part avoided extensive destruction. Urban development has progressed rapidly in recent years, however, and natural habitats are gradually being upset. This report on the results of a survey of Orthoptera in Niigata Prefecture is being presented to commemorate the author's retirement. | |||||
